FAQ
How do I know if my animal needs physio?
Animals are unable to tell us if they are in pain and discomfort. Sometimes it can be difficult to recognise and diagnose because animals can compensate and mask pain. Common presentations of pain can include limping or reluctance to move, aggressive or defensive behaviour, reduced performance as well as gait abnormalities.
What animals do you treat?
We have experience treating a wide range of species and breeds, from horses, dogs and cats to rabbits, goats and snakes so please feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements.
What areas do you cover?
RJ physio is based outside Middlewich, Cheshire and covers Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, parts of Merseyside, Shropshire and North Wales.
Do you offer discount for Multiple animals on one yard?
Yes, this is available, please call to discuss your requirements.
How do I book an appointment?
Please contact us directly either by phone or email. Details can be found on the home' page. It is a legal requirement that I must obtain veterinary consent for physiotherapy. A referral form can be downloaded from the 'home' page and sent to your vet.
Why do I need a veterinary referral?
In order to comply with sections 19 and 20 of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, veterinary physiotherapists may only treat an animal following a referral from a qualified and registered veterinary surgeon.
Will my insurance company pay for physiotherapy treatment?
Most insurance companies will cover veterinary physiotherapy treatments. Please contact your insurance provider directly to find out if your policy covers physiotherapy. Please note that we do not deal with direct claims for insurance companies. You will need to settle the account with RJ physio and obtain a receipt that will allow you to claim back your costs.
